Nataraja Yoga
We started our journey by creating Jakarta Ashtanga School in 2010. After six years running a traditional yoga school, hosting various events and workshops, we moved the main shala to Bali in 2017. We aim to keep growing our community of seeker on the island of the Gods, with the hope to celebrate peace, love and light at Nataraja Bali Yoga Shala.
What is Nataraja?
The name of the Shala is inspired by Nataraja, the dancing form of Shiva. Nataraja beautifully combines Shiva’s three roles as creator, preserver, and destroyer of the universe, with the arch of flames conveying the concept of the never-ending cycle of time.

Shiva’s dance symbolizes the constant motion of the cosmos at the very basic, subatomic level, merging creation & destruction at the very primordial level of all existence and natural phenomena.

Nataraja Bali Yoga Shala is an abode to experience, embrace and celebrate joyful living. We are creating a unique community of seekers, who come under our roof to be themselves, valuing our principles - Peace for the mind, Love for the heart and Light for the body - to achieve good health. Nataraja’s vision is to bring harmony in the physical, mental and emotional levels of our being, through "Simple Living & Higher Thinking", Yoga, Yoga Therapy, and other teachings of healing & well-being.
Above all else, we believe in keeping perfect body health, peace of mind, and mental stability – Your health is your wealth. These principles form the basis for our Spine Shakti yoga for back care classes, along with other daily practices, workshops and retreats.
The yoga system is the most complete and methodical, it teaches us step-by-step how to bring harmony to the body, mind and emotions. Our aim is to keep the valuable ancient tradition alive, as well as to spread the message of yoga in a scientific and systematic manner. Students can learn and grow their practice through our regular Ashtanga vinyasa yoga sessions. For those wishing to further develop their grounding in Yoga for self-practice or teaching, Nataraja Yoga Shala Bali offers a full Yogic Leadership Program.

The aim of these five main principles is to develop in the aspirants a state of perfect body health, peace of mind & mental stability, perfect intellectual clarity and higher spiritual knowledge. With awareness, a state where one is both useful to himself and to mankind.
